Ulthera treatment
Ulthera is an innovative treatment that lifts, tightens, and firms fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin, also known as skin laxity. Backed by 88 patents and 46 clinical studies, ultherapy has a strong reputation around the world, including among medical professionals who specialize in plastic surgery. This treatment is also licensed by Health Canada, so you can rest assured that it is safe and held to the highest possible standards.
Ultherapy is the most popular anti-aging procedure offered at Dermapure Toronto, with patients typically noticing results within 2 to 6 months following their treatment. Not only can ultherapy help treat visible signs of aging, but it can also work to slow down your skin’s aging process in certain cases.
Each person is unique and may react differently to ultherapy. During your free consultation, our trained physicians can help you understand what to expect, and help you build a personalized treatment plan that puts your natural beauty in the spotlight. Our holistic approach to anti-aging revolves around highlighting each patient’s best features, so you feel naturally radiant and confident in your own skin!
Ulthera tightens skin tissue using focused ultrasound technology. Given the nature of this procedure, it is particularly effective when it comes to tightening the contour of the face (i.e. around the jaw), eyebrows, neck, and décolleté.
During the treatment, your physician will use a handheld device to deliver ultrasound waves to your subcutaneous tissue – or, put simply, the innermost layers of your skin. The ultrasound device will create thousands of tiny attachment points under the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis, encouraging tissue regeneration.
Reaching subcutaneous depths of 1.5 mm, 3 mm, or 4.5 mm depending on the patient’s goals and needs, ultherapy can interact with the same layers of the skin that are usually targeted during a surgical facelift. This allows the ultrasound technology to smooth and firm the face, the neck, and décolleté, leaving our patients with visibly tighter skin over a certain period of time. This treatment is best for people who want a progressive effect that prevents skin laxity.
The upper layer of the skin will remain completely unaffected by the procedure, and the smoothing effect will occur in a gradual and natural way. Apart from localized redness, occasional swelling, and temporary sensitivity on the treated area, there is no downtime required after an ultherapy procedure. You can simply visit Dermapure Toronto, undergo your skin tightening treatment, and walk out the front door feeling ready to take on the day!
At Dermapure Toronto, we pride ourselves on offering very competitive rates for our ultherapy treatments. The cost of this procedure ranges from $1,575 per session if you wish to treat the upper facial area (i.e. crow’s feet, eyebrow lift, or dark circles) to $3,675 to treat your entire face and neck. Overall, the cost of ultherapy in Toronto will depend on which specific areas you would like to tighten – we recommend reaching out to the Dermapure team for a full cost breakdown based on your unique needs.
For best results, we recommend that patients come in for an ultherapy treatment once every two years. Over time, studies have shown that this type of procedure can actually help thicken the skin in areas that have been treated with Ulthera, thereby reversing the natural thinning of the epidermis that creates skin laxity, wrinkles, and fine lines.
Ulthera, which is a corrective treatment, can be alternated with Thermage, which is a preventive treatment. In order to continuously promote collagen production and maximize the effects of your ultherapy procedures, Dermapure also recommends supplementing your regimen with 4 treatments of Venus Freeze/Venus Legacy per year. Ask your physician about the course of treatment that will create the most natural and long-lasting results for your specific goals.
Women who are pregnant or nursing should not undergo ultherapy.
Postpone this type of treatment until your situation changes.
Ultherapy is recommended for individuals who have a mild to moderate degree of skin laxity, i.e. if your skin looks or feels less firm than you’re used to. If you have loose skin under the neck, under the chin, or lines and wrinkles on the chest, these signs may indicate that you are a good candidate for ultherapy. The best way to determine whether ultherapy will help you address your anti-aging concerns is to book a free consultation with the specialists at Dermapure, either in-person or virtually.
The answer will vary per patient, but typically, your early thirties are when you will begin experiencing the first truly visible signs of aging. Over time, and as early as 25 years old, collagen production begins to slow. Fine lines and wrinkles begin to form as your skin becomes less plump. Treatments like ultherapy are therefore recommended to maintain your skin’s firmness using supplementary methods.
The cost of treatment starts at $1,500 per session.
True to its name, ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to gradually lift and tighten loose skin, without any downtime or significant side effects. This treatment uses microfocused ultrasound waves to generate a thermal effect under the skin, targeting its deepest layers to encourage your body’s natural collagen-producing processes.
Ultherapy appointments can last anywhere between 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the area that is being treated.
The face, neck, brows and décolleté are the most commonly treated areas. Ultherapy can target crow’s feet, loose skin, fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles.
For most patients, the effects of their ultherapy treatment will gradually appear within two to six months following a single treatment session. They can then last for 1-2 years depending on the patient’s skin and aging process, though individual results may vary. Dermapure recommends this type of procedure as part of an annual or bi-annual skin rejuvenation maintenance program.
Most patients require absolutely no downtime following their Ulthera treatment. However, some people do experience temporary redness or minor swelling around the treated area in the 24 to 48 hours after their treatment.
Many patients elect to combine multiple treatments to enhance their overall results. In the case of ultherapy, you can combine this procedure with injectable treatments, including neuromodulators and dermal fillers. A free consultation with one of our physicians will help you determine your exact skin needs and create a personalized treatment plan that includes the best-suited treatment(s) for your skin and needs.
