It’s the favourite of celebrities and glowy skinned influencers… RF Microneedling is the talk of the town and with good reason!
RF Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment used to tighten and firm skin, fade fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, shrink pores, and reduce the appearance of scars, for younger looking skin. One thing’s for sure: you’ll want to try it!
What is RF Microneedling technology?
An innovative combination of microneedling and radiofrequency, this unique technology stimulates skin cells both on the surface and in depth.
The micro-perforations, created with the help of a very fine gold-plated needle at different depths in the superficial layer of the dermis, activate the regeneration process of the skin. The result? An increase in collagen production and stimulation of elastin contraction, resulting in improved firmness, an even texture, and a reduction in fine lines.
As for radiofrequency technology, it stimulates tissue coagulation and homeostasis by heating the skin from within, creating a controlled inflammation that encourages cellular regeneration.
Boost your natural collagen? Yes, please!
What areas can I treat with RF Microneedling?
The face, eyes, neck, neckline, arms, abdomen, thighs, and knees.
How do I know if I am a good candidate for RF Microneedling?
Anyone looking to improve skin texture or fade wrinkles, scars and/or stretch marks as well as sun damage such as age spots is considered a good candidate for RF Microneedling. However, pregnant or breastfeeding women should postpone this type of treatment, as well as anyone undergoing immunosuppressive treatment or suffering from an active skin infection.
A consultation at the clinic will allow us to analyze your skin, consider your expectations and needs and determine if RF Microneedling is right for you.
How much time should I allow and how will my appointment at Dermapure work?
An RF Microneedling session lasts between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the area treated, in addition to the 45-minute numbing gel pre-treatment period.
The appointment begins with photos being taken to document your results and to allow you to follow the evolution of your condition from one appointment to the next.
Following the taking of “before” photos, your technician will clean and disinfect your skin prior to applying a lidocaine-based anesthetic gel to minimize any discomfort during the procedure.
The technician will then proceed with the RF Microneedling treatment by applying the tip to the skin in precise and regular movements. A second pass on certain areas may be necessary to obtain desired results.
Is the procedure painful? What can I expect in the days following the treatment?
Due to the application of the numbing gel and the heat emitted by the radiofrequency, which is simultaneous with the microneedling, RF Microneedling typically causes only minimal discomfort.
After the treatment, the skin may be slightly irritated and/or swollen, but the inflammation usually diminishes within a few hours. This means you can go home and resume your regular activities as soon as you leave the clinic.
How long will it take to see a difference? How long will the results last?
Results vary depending on the number and intensity of treatments received and are generally noticeable from 4 to 6 weeks following the procedure. The effects of RF Microneedling normally last up to one year, after which a maintenance session is recommended to maintain the results.
A few sessions spaced 3 to 8 weeks apart may be suggested depending on your skin condition. A proper skin care routine is also recommended for optimal and lasting results.
How much does RF Microneedling cost?
The cost varies depending on the area treated. Contact your clinic for all the details!
